Had occasion to be next door visiting the folks from the International Book Festival this morning. I'm sure Mr Salmond would already be away at work.

Museum of Flight

Well I have now been on Concorde but at considerably less than the speed of sound.  Today is an Edinburgh holiday, Victoria Day, not greatly observed. Yesterday was blustery but today is a lot worse and the winds are disrupting flights.  Flying on this aircraft would not have been great if you had any sense of claustrophobia.

The building in the background was the old fish market.  A small market still runs there and there is now a very good retail fishmongers. There are also two restaurants.

Walkway.

Sticking with the redevelopment.  This walkway and landscaping are at the end of the Western Harbour but just to the right, out of the picture, instead of buildings we have holes in the ground.

This is one of the waterfront developments that has been completed.  I suspect the architect was keen on Lego when young.

Road to Nowhere

With most of the development stopped due to the financial crisis there are many roads going nowhere in particular in Edinburgh

Edinburgh has many green spaces, this small park is in the south of the city between Gorgie and Merchiston.
