Leith Police

The signage on Leith Police Station.  Thankfully I have no reason to be dismissed or otherwise.

Bus Station

The Bus Station at St Andrews Square.  A rather more comfortable place to wait in enclosed warmth compared with the old wind tunnel.

Chimneys

Blue sky, Chimneys and the moon.

Just liked the sun on these garage doors.

Leith Docks

Return of some sunshine and the Well Enhancer rig support vessel.

Louis Vuitton

The little walkway between St Andrews Square and the bus station has a lot of expensive shops who go in for  carefully arranged window displays.

Princes Street

Complete with the shiny new tram rails but no trams.

More of the Same

The deluge continues unabated merely turning from rain to sleet to snow and back again.  This is where the ducks were yesterday but all the "dry" ground has gone.

Ducks

It has of late been just the weather for ducks so on this dull wet day again here are some ducks on the Water of Leith.

Hanover Street

Leaving the exhibition last night, looking over Princes St in the continuing rain.

Private View

The opening night for the exhibitions in the RSA, (see 29th Jan). In this bloggers humble opinion the shows were much better than in recent years.

Spectrum

The door at work faces south and has one of those little wide angle security lenses.  Being rather dull inside, due to the absence of proper windows, we sometimes get a little diffracted beam hitting something, in this case a studio flash reflector.  I just liked the effect.

Great Junction Street

More particularly this is the octagonal domed clock tower of the old Leith Provident Co-operative Society built in 1911. This was their flagship store and it was indeed a department store occupying the ground floor for a considerable distance along the street.  Above the store were flats.  The flats in the tower section being large and spacious.  The top flat was owned by the actor Russell Hunter.
