More Shop Windows

These are two local shops on Ferry Road in Leith. Radio Electrics does exactly what it says on the tin.  Or in this case the windows and hoardings.  Nothing fancy, just crammed full and very useful, especially in the "throw away" age, repairs being a staple of their business.  The other is the "corner shop" early till late.  The window display here is to say the least basic, possibly non existent but again the shop is useful.  Thinking of the post on  Louis Vuitton (15th Feb), perhaps there is an inverse law vis a vis usefulness and quality of display.

The Botanics

The Royal Botanic Garden, to give it it's Sunday name, is fairly local and a favourite spot. It turned out a fine day and appears to be getting warmer at last.  Signs of Spring arriving.

I am not sure however of the latest man made arrival.  The new structure at the West Gate is a bit of a monster. This is it from the southern aspect in the Gardens.

Huggie and Inveraray

Away in the west today at Inveraray on Loch Fyne.  Met up with Huggie and his friends out for a weekends touring in the Morgan.  Huggie would appear to be a graduate of Glasgow University and a bit of a backseat driver.

Larger buildings in Edinburgh's New Town are generally now offices.  This imposing facade is in Queen Street.

A folly really, not a ruin.  It got started but quickly ran out of funds. It was to be a memorial for the Napoleonic War but.......
