Tony
This is the Stockbridge "Tony", the Antony Gormley casts in the Water of Leith. Our local Tony still lies submerged, must be 7 or 8 months now. Didn't want to finish the year without a last appearance.

National Portrait Gallery
The refurbished Gallery is now open again having been closed for a year. They seem to have made a pretty good job of it. There was no access to the library before, one of the many changes.

Gingerbread House
Not any old gingerbread house but one based on a building in Leith. This is the work of La Cerise and is the annual Christmas charity fundraiser. You have to name the building. I don't think you get to eat the house if you win though. This is a link to the wonderful world of patisserie. http://www.lacerise.biz/

It's Official
Winter has arrived. After the mildest November on record we have a freeze. Sleet followed by sub-zero temperatures leading to rock hard deposits on windscreens and the streets covered in a thin slippy film of ice. Back to normal.

Occupy Edinburgh
This pleasant little campsite loks a lot more comfortable than St Pauls or Wall Street. Camped in St Andrew's Square they are not really inconveniencing anyone. Very Edinburgh.
