Looking down to the Castle from the entrance to Inverleith Park opposite the Botanics main gate. The Botanics and Park are handy for enjoying this unseasonal warm and sunny weather.

Art Council Style

This is the entrance to Edinburgh Council's administrative headquarters by the Waverley Station. I have no idea of the title of the work. Maybe it should be a competition.

The New Town

Sticking with curving facades this is a "rear" view of the New Town perched high above the Dean Gorge and photographed from the Dean Bridge, (built in 1833 by Thomas Telford), which spans the gorge cut by the Water of Leith. On the right, the back of Randolph Place, central would be Ainslie Place and the small section on the left, Moray Place.

Starting to put the yachts in, must be spring.

This little enclave is just off the shore road between Newhaven and Granton.

Cycleway, Trinity

Edinburgh has an extensive network of cycleways which use the routes of the old railway lines.  This one running through Trinity and on to the city centre.

Conversion

This was an old school in Henderson St in Leith.  Converted twice, originally to workshop spaces and then to flats.

The only Edinburgh thing about this photo are the references on the Departures Board in Leeds station.

Platform 9

Waverley Station. The Bristol train but I am only going as far as Leeds. The station is being extensively alterd and is in a state of chaos.

Flood Works

Work on the flood defences for the Water of Leith continues. They have narrowed the flow considerably by the Newhaven Road bridge and the venturi effect results in a suddenly quicker flow.
