Up at the castle today. Just a bit late for the 21 gun salute for the Queen's official birthday.  Hence the three artillery pieces instead of one. Tam the "gun" died in 2005 and the current incumbent is a lady who replaced the replacement.  See article.

The big stone telescope started the day basking in the sunshine and then the effect of the North Sea kicked in.  It got grey and cold but not quite as far as the haar.  It has now gone back to sunshine late afternoon.
