Victoria Park

Today started a lot cooler with heavy condensation on the car windows. Despite the afternoon sunshine the park is quiet and no takers for the benches.   Too cold. Autumn is here.

Local Buses

The 11 and the 7 heading out down Newhaven Road.

On Princes Street but no trams of course.  You can see in the background that Waterloo Place is still under construction.

Queen Street

Reduced to one lane in each direction and no cars travelling east, these works have required major changes  with heavy traffic directed along Heriot Row. Edinburgh is just one big confusing building site.

Sherlock Holmes - the Return

Not from the Reichenbach Falls but from the Council Pound. He has been away for 3 years, removed as he was in the way of the new Tram Line. This part has now been scrapped so he gets to come back to his original site in Picardy Place, site of an earlier council fiasco, the demolition of Conan Doyle's house to make way for a roundabout. Great decision!

Post Box

The Post Office came up with the wheeze of painting a box "Gold" in the home towns where an Olympic athlete had struck gold in the games.  This one for Chris Hoy in Hanover Street

Graphito

This is on a the boarding of a "development" site in New Street where they demolished the old building used as a car park. The boarding must stretch for 200 metres and last Saturday there were hoards of spray artists all tackling it once.  No idea who organised it but there is now an entire street of this.
