Waterfowl

A section of Inverleith pond has been turned into a mini "wetland". This is one of the inhabitants. Lack of ornithological nouse leaves me with just the generic.

    This is a Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus). "very common in swamps, ponds and lakes with shore vegetation. Often in parks. Nests in bushes beside water, reeds and aquatic vegetation." Easily distinguished from the Coot (Fulica atra) because of its red bill as opposed to the Coot's white.
